EN ISO 10848-2 Sound Insulation Measurements Flanking Transmission
EN ISO 10848-2 specifies the measurement methods in a laboratory in order to characterize the flanking transmission of one or several building components which is related to the combined performance of the elements and junctions. Being one of the very few laboratories in this field, special acoustic test chamber is mainly designed to allow tests for façade systems. The facility consists of four structurally isolated, adjacent reverberant rooms which allow measurement of horizontal, vertical and diagonal flanking sound transmission. All measurements are performed according to EN ISO 10848-2 are given in the extended frequency range of 50-5000Hz in third octave bands. The frequency-dependent values of flanking sound insulation performance data is converted into a single number characterising the overall acoustical performance according to the method given in EN ISO 717-1.
